Action of botulinum toxin (botox)

The action of botulinum toxin is to temporarily inhibit the secretion of acetylcholine, which is responsible for transmitting signals between neurons. As a result, a completely safe and reversible process of muscle contraction loss occurs, because the nerve endings do not send a signal.

What preparations do we work with?

We use various preparations of botulinum toxin type A. We work mainly on Azzalure and Bocouture . As with other treatments, the preparation is individually selected for each patient

Indications for the procedure

Botulinum toxin is intended for people who want to get rid of wrinkles in the upper part of the face, the so-called facial wrinkles. We mainly mean the horizontal forehead wrinkles, wrinkles between the eyebrows or wrinkles around the eyes, commonly known as 'crow's feet'.

Contraindications

*hypersensitivity to Clostridium botulinum type A neurotoxin complex or to any of the ingredients of the drug

*disorders of neuromuscular junctions (myasthenia gravis, myopathies

*aminoglycoside therapy

*pregnancy and breastfeeding

*Botulinum toxin treatment

Botulinum toxin treatments are virtually painless, the patient only feels some discomfort during the procedure related to the needle prick. The procedure lasts about 20-30 minutes. In the case of patient hypersensitivity, it is possible to use local anesthesia in the form of an anesthetic cream.

After botox treatment

The effect after the procedure lasts from 3 to 6 months, and it depends on the individual characteristics of the body. After the indicated period, facial expressions gradually return. After the botulinum toxin has completely worn off, but no earlier than after 3 months, the procedure can be repeated. As with other injection procedures, redness and swelling may occur.
